Hot Tub Yoga Tips and Video

With today's multi-tasking age, why not mix yoga with hot tubbing.  Basically it involves concentration on your breathing along with under- and over water stretches.

Patty and Dashama give some stretching tips in this video.

Whenever doing any kind of yoga, it is best to warm up first with light cardio and stretching to help limber up muscles and prepare for exercise.

Many hot tub poses can be performed in the center of the hot tub. As with any hot tub exercise, be sure to take it slow to avoid slipping.  Some hot tubs with a more slip resistant floor will be better for these kinds of exercises than others.

The QCA Spas line of hot tubs for instance, roughs up the floor surface to help make it slip-resistant.

Many yoga poses can be performed in the center of the foot well area.  Some may even use the seats such as a Buddhist Stupa Pose where the two feet are on opposite seats.  Again, these exercises depend on the distance between seats and your particular hot tub so take care and relax!

Remember, a minute of practice can many times lead to 30 minutes of practice.    Focus to do a pose well.

Your hot tub can be an extended sanctuary of your home.  Being in a bad mood is very demotivating since emotions can have physical as well as mental impact.

Even five minutes of practice can exponentially elevate your mood.
