Sodium Bromide ELE09904770 for Genesis bromine salt generators as used by Cal Spas and other hot tub manufacturers.

This is the 2 lb. container of bromine salt /sodium bromide needed to establish a reserve when using the Genesis bromine salt system in hot tubs.

This product is great for spas with 24 hour circulation systems.  Add Tru-Blu at a rate of 1 lb. per 100 gallons of spa water so that the recommended 1200 PPM level is maintained.

For spas with 8 hour circulation cycles: Tru-Blu sodium bromide needs to be added at a rate of 1.5 lb per 100 gallons of spa water in order to maintain a recommended 1900PPM.

The Genesis bromine salt generator is a computer controlled automatic bromine generator used in hot tubs. 

Genesis TRU BLU is 99% pure Sodium Bromide (NaBr) and comes from Be’er Sheva.

The bottle of Sodium Bromide (this item) is needed to establish a reserve level when refilling the spa, or to top up the available bromine salt in the spa. 

Use salt test strips and do not register bromine, only bromine salt when using this system.  Do not fill the spa from a water softener.  The manufacturer recommends balancing the water when refilling with these levels:

• pH: 7.2 - 7.8
• Total alkalinity: 80 - 120 PPM – mg/l
• Calcium hardness: 150 - 200 PPM – mg/l
• Phosphate level less than 125 PPB
• 98% Sodium Bromide NaBr

Follow the instructions that came with the bromine salt generator.

Note that on refill, it can take several days for bromine level to stabilize. 

Press the Boost button on the system for the occasional heavy bather load.

If the water source when refilling the spa has high total dissolved solid content, it is best to use a pre-filter that attaches to the garden hose to filter out chemical and organic contaminants and start off fresh.

The Sodium Bromide level in your spa should be between 1500 – 1900 ppm. Check the chart on your bottle of Tru-Blu Test Strips. The reading should fall between 7.6 and 8.0.
